The Great Commission

I preached on the Great Commission 4 times last Sunday. The Great Commission is another name for Matthew 28:16-20, which says

16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

I spoke about living this out, which begs the question: how we are planning to do this with everyone we meet while we are away?

Any ideas? Tomorrow I’ll post my thoughts so far.

  1. I am enjoying your blog so much already and you haven't even left! I am looking forward to reading about your physical travels but also what God is doing for you all spiritually under differing circumstances.
What a great opportunity to "make disciples". You will meet so many people that you can share your lives with that you may never have encountered. What a privilege to know and share Jesus' love with them.
